What Data I Collect
Newsletter subscription: If you subscribe to my newsletter, I collect your email address. That is the only personal information I ask for. I use this to send you new blog posts and occasional updates. Nothing else.
Comments: If you leave a comment on a blog post, I collect your name, email address, and the comment itself. Your email is never displayed publicly. Comments may be checked through the Akismet anti-spam service, which may store your IP address and browser user agent string.
Server logs: Like most websites, my hosting provider automatically collects technical data when you visit. This includes your IP address, browser type, referring page, and time of visit. This data is used for security and performance monitoring only.
Cookies: WordPress sets functional cookies required for the site to work properly. If you leave a comment, cookies may store your name and email so you do not have to re-enter them. The Newsletter plugin may set a cookie to remember whether you are already subscribed. No tracking or advertising cookies are used on this site.
Why I Collect This Data
I collect personal data for the following purposes only:
To send you blog post updates if you subscribe to the newsletter (lawful basis: your consent).
To display and manage blog comments (lawful basis: your consent).
To maintain site security and performance (lawful basis: legitimate interest).
Third Parties
I do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with anyone. The following services process data on my behalf to keep this site running:
Hosting provider stores the site and server logs.
Newsletter plugin (by Stefano Lissa) manages email subscriptions and sends newsletters. Email data is stored on the same server as this website.
Akismet (by Automattic) may process comment data for spam detection. Their privacy policy: automattic.com/privacy
No data is shared with advertising networks. No analytics tracking scripts run on this site beyond basic server logs.

Withdraw consent at any time. For newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in any email.
Object to processing based on legitimate interest.

Newsletter
When you subscribe, I use double opt-in. You enter your email, then confirm by clicking a link in a verification email. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. When you unsubscribe, your email is removed from the mailing list.
Data Retention
Newsletter subscriber emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Comment data is kept for the lifetime of the blog post. Server logs are retained according to my hosting provider’s standard retention period, typically 30 to 90 days.
Data Security
I use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including SSL/TLS encryption for all site traffic. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is not directed at anyone under the age of 16. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to This Policy
I may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
